Oujda Morocco :

The moroccan city of Oujda stands in a very strategic region in Morocco, this region has mixed cultures due to its geographic situation, not far from Spain, the alegrian borders, the city stands between two infulences, the arabic and the European influence.

Oujda is the capital city of the north eastern part of Morocco, 10 miles from the Algerian borders, and nearly 40 miles from the Mediterranean Sea, Oujda was found in 994 AC by Ziri ibn Attia, the chief of Maghraoua tribe and during the first 80 years, Oujda was the capital of Al-Maghreb (Morocco), since it hosted two dynasties, the Almoravide and Almohade, thanks to these dynasties the city of Oujda was fortified, king Abou Youssef rebuilt the city in 1297, giving the city its imperial character, the walls, Kasbah, mosque and a palace, the city of Oujda has a lot of nice hostorical monuments, and is one of the most fascinating travel destinations in Morocco.

The best Oujda period was under Islamic rulers, this period had developped so many trivial sectors in Oujda such as agriculture, social activity, architecture, mainly monuments some of these monuments are still preserved and still standing nowadays like Musjed Al-Kabire , The city of Oujda was built on the plain of Angad, which is surrounded by one of the most beautiful mountainous regions in Morocco: The Beni-Snassen Mountains.

Oujda has four monumental gateways : Bab Ouled Amran, Bab Sidi Aissa, Bab Sidi Abdelwahab and Bab Ahl Jam,  The Grand Mosque built in the thirteenth century is one of the city's finest monuments, many shops are in Oujda such as the "Kissaria", where shops expose all the local handicraft.
